Caroline opened Chain Effect with her husband, Taylor, and she returned working here in 2019. She spent the previous 3+ wonderful years at NC Surgery Rex Bariatric Specialists, which granted her extensive exposure to a highly complex and varied population. She followed patients before and after surgery, identifying and correcting vitamin and protein deficiencies, and provided evidence-based meal planning. Equally important, she helped her patients untangle how their eating habits were triggered by their relationship with food. To say the least, understanding the "why" that drives her patients has become a hallmark of her treatment philosophy. What she will NOT do is guilt you over foods you enjoy and decisions you make, or tell you simply "eat this, not that." While she continues to enjoy helping patients with weight loss, she is excited to expand upon her interests in perinatal care (new mommy), autoimmune disease, and other areas of functional medicine. Caroline is a Registered Dietitian with a Master of Science in Nutrition from Meredith College and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UNC Chapel Hill. She has been practicing since 2015.
